Vanguards VA04702; Triumph TR3A Sports; Soft Top, Silverstone Grey & Red |
In Ian Fleming's book of Goldfinger Tilly Masterson drives a dove grey Triumph TR3, Bond spots it first at the air ferry terminal and then several more times as he tracks Goldfinger across France using his homing device. In the book, like the film, she is tailing Goldfinger with a view to killing him in revenge for her sister Jill whom Goldfinger had killed in Miami - by painting her all over gold! Bond sees Tilly as a distraction to his mission and unlike the clever stuff with tyre slashers in the movie - he simply backs his Aston Martin DB3 with reinforced steel bumpers into the front of the Triumph and busts the radiator to disable the car.
