Is it me or are the proportions a bit wrong with this car? The grille seems too big, the boot too shallow. The toy was introduced in 1961 and looking at the 1959 model on the internet, which is what I think this is supposed to be, the grille was oversized, but I think the modellers at Dinky just went a bit over the top. I like it though and it is very early to have plated plastic brightwork. It is a bit of a surprise to see it on a Dinky 1961 release. Corgi used it first on the Ghia 6.4L two years later, and I had always thought that they were first.

This Dinky was sourced in September 2008 from Ebay
