The Vauxhall Viva HA, a staple British saloon from the early sixties.
This from the period when Dinky were making some really nicely detailed
models, we're beginning to get opening features and some chassis details
on the base plate too.
This is a nice example in the darker blue, however when I got it the car
would not sit straight so off came the bottom plate. The problem wasn't
hard to spot, one half of the front axle had come out from under the
spring. This was very quickly and easily fixed and while the car was in
bits I took the opportunity to give it a good clean. I decided to try
fitting the base plate back on with a screw. I found a 2mm machine screw
and drilled out the post to accommodate it.
This Dinky was sourced before January 2004 (when I started keeping
records) from Ebay
