The Mercedes-Benz W25 was a Grand Prix racing car designed by Daimler-Benz AG for the 1934 Grand Prix season, in which new rules were introduced, and no championship was held. In 1935, the European Championship was resumed, and it was won by Rudolf Caracciola in a W25. In modified form, the W25 remained in use until 1937,

The Dinky was made from 1936 to 1950. Pre 1938 releases are open castings with no base plate, a riveted base plate was added to later releases. From its introduction to 1940 it was sold as 'Mercedes-Benz', when production was resumed post war in 1946 the name was changed to 'Large Open Racing Car', these cars are blue or silver with various racing numbers. The 1936 to 1940 releases were in a range of colours with contrasting body flashes and racing numbers 3,4,or5. The pre-war releases are where the value resides.

In 2013 it was re-released as part of the Atlas Dinky range.
