Dinky Toys 139b/171; Hudson Commodore Sedan
A very stylish car from the late 1940s, really fast and advanced for its time. Dinky produced it from 1950 right through to 1959, renumbering it from 139b to 171 in 1954 at which time they started to sell it individually boxed, prior to this time they were sold from trays of six.
They are all two-tone with the earliest cars just having the roof and widow pillars in the second colour. In 1954 the roof colour extended over the boot and bonnet (Highline) and in 1958 extended half way down the lower bodywork (Lowline).
There are many colour variations and variations in the style of the baseplate too, it is one of those you need to reference in one of the catalogues, like Ramsay, to be sure what you have got.
