Dinky Cars England

This car was expensive, luxurious and fast: "Speed Age magazine of July 1956 tested the Golden Hawk against the Chrysler 300 B, Ford Thunderbird and Chevrolet Corvette, finding that the Golden Hawk could out-perform the others comfortably in both 0-60 mph acceleration and quarter mile times. The fastest 0-60 reported in magazine testing was 7.8 seconds, while top speeds were quoted as 125 mph (201 km/h) plus." (Wikipedia)

It also influences a generation of Rootes Group cars. The later Sunbeam Rapiers and the first generation Humber Sceptre take everything but the tail fins from this car.

Dinky produced it from 1958 to 1963 in green with a cream side flash or tan with a red side flash, both colours can be found with painted or spun hubs.

This Dinky was sourced in October 2020 from a private collection, it has been repainted to a non-standard colour scheme.
