Matchbox King Size; Muir-Hill 161 Tractor

K-5/3, the tractor and trailer set, was added to the King-Size range in 1970. The UK release was always yellow with red wheels and a red chassis on the trailer, there should be a dozer blade on the tractor which is nearly always lost on unboxed sets as it just slides off. There was a German release which is light blue & dark blue with Hoch & Tief graphics. Neither version is very common and they both get reasonable prices. The German version being the more desirable option.

In 1977 the tractor was given a snowplough blade and a back-hoe, and the number K-25/2. You will see unboxed versions of this tractor in yellow with the back-hoe but without the snow plough, they are from a set with a Peterbilt Low Loader number K-108/1 or K-130/1, neither of which had come my way at the time of writing.

The green tractor is from a small farming range released in 1992, there is a Range Rover (FM-1) in matching colours, some box sets, a Massey tractor, a pickup and some implements, mostly in this yellow/green colourway and crossing over between the King Size scales and the 1:75 range.
