Matchbox Battle Kings; Missile Launcher

Part of the Battle Kings range launched in 1974 the Missile Launcher / Rocket Striker has more fun features than most. It is though one of the many made-up trucks Lesney was producing at the time.

If you find one in dark military green you have the Battle Kings Missile Launcher, if it is light jade green then it is from the Adventure 2000 range and called Rocket Striker, but may still have Missile Launcher stamped on the base. I've had lots of fun with this truck though, the payload area at the back splits and opens to reveal the spring-loaded rocket launcher and the spare rockets, room for five rockets in all, also as you push it along the radar scanner rotates. Excellent.

Values for these later King-Size items are harder to pin down but they seem to be going up.
