Matchbox King Size; Mercury Commuter

The station wagon is a 1965 model Mercury Commuter and you will find it as a Police car, K-23/1, with either regular wheels or Superfast. It is used as a tow car in two sets, the Drag Pack and the Team Matchbox Racing set. The Team Matchbox set has either a Lightning or Thunderclap racing car on the trailer in white, red or yellow, the deck on the trailer can be blue or black, the tow car is usually yellow but there are some with the lime green car from the Drag Pack.

K-28/1 Drag Pack was released in 1971 in the Speed Kings range and remained in production until 1978. The tow car is a civilian version of K-23/1, Mercury Police Car in lime or metallic green. The trailer is yellow and not a stand-alone model, it is in a number of sets like this and is also adapted to carry a boat in some sets. On the trailer is a K-21/A Cougar Dragster which can be seen in pink, purple or crimson.
