Matchbox Major Pack M-9; Interstate Double Freighter

This double-articulated road train was produced by Lesney from 1962 to 1967. There is a tractor unit, two box trailers and a bogey which connects the two trailers. It is always in a variation of blue cab and silver or grey trailers. The bogey can be blue or grey. The unit is interesting being a Hendrickson COE Tractor. Hendrickson were early players in US truck building, being great innovators in suspension systems. They stopped building trucks in the 1970s and now the company specialises in making truck and trailer suspension components.

You will also see some with blue doors on the trailers and some with doors self-coloured to the trailer. Look out for silver coloured air-horns, grey rather than silver trailers and orange rather than yellow decals.
