Matchbox SuperKings K-27/2; Ford Transporter and Racing Powerboat

The artic unit in this rig is an A Series Ford. This was a short-lived heavy duty variant on the Mk1 Facelift Ford Transit. Ford actually supplied a 'baby' artic tractor as part of the range of A Series trucks on offer. The A Series Ford sat between the Transit which had at the time a maximum payload of 3.5 metric tonnes and the D Series truck which came in at 7 tonnes payload. The bodywork was borrowed from the Transit. The A Series was deleted in 1983 when the Transit was given new variants to increase the payload and the Iveco Daily was rebadged and brought into the Ford range.

the Matchbox version was introduced in 1977 and there are a number of different liveries and finishes to the boat, in addition to the ones shown below there are 'Benihana' and 'Matchbox' there may be more.
