Matchbox Accessory Pack A-2; Bedford S Type Car Transporter
This is one of those I
looked for and had to buy. I'd owned one when I was little and really
enjoyed playing with it. It is such a truism that we remember the
splendid Corgis and Dinkys that we owned, but we had few of them because
they were expensive. We actually spent more time with the Matchboxes
because they were cheaper and we had so many more of them; and a
transporter is brilliant because you can play with loads of cars at
once. I really liked my Bedford transporter.
They were made from 1957 onwards and are usually pale blue, there are
some harder to find ones with a red cab and red and grey trailer. The
lettering on the trailer can be 'MATCHBOX CAR TRANSPORTER' or 'CAR
COLLECTION Ltd, CAR TRANSPORTER' or just 'CAR COLLECTION Ltd' on some of
the red and grey ones, the lettering is black, red or dark blue on the
pale blue ones and red out of yellow on the red/grey ones. wheels can be
metal, grey plastic or black plastic.
Look out for red and grey ones, especially if they have the shorter
text. Of the pale blue ones look for knobbly plastic wheels and red
lettering. |
