Box notes: "In 1957 the Formula 1 World Championship was Maserati’s with their legendary team of three Lightweight 250 Fs. Juan Fangio won four GP’s and his fifth and final World Championship in these cars with a win at Monaco. Engine: 2493 cc 6 cylinder 270 bhp, 165mph." Wikipedia: "The Maserati 250F was a racing car made by Maserati of Italy used in '2.5 litre' Formula One racing between January 1954 and November 1960. Twenty-six examples were made." Matchbox released a small
range of classic racing cars in 1986 , a 1930 Bentley, 1935 ERA and a
1932 Bugatti. It had been planned that Models of Yesteryear would
sponsor classic car racing, an idea which was not carried through. The
Maserati was produced for two years and deleted in 1998. There are no
variations, all cars are Italian racing red and very smart they are too. |
