Matchbox/Lesney 61c; Blue Shark; Metallic Blue, Silver Base, Clear Windows, RN86

This is another made-up car from Matchbox. The Blue Shark is a sort of Can-Am racer with a big V8 sticking out of the rear deck. This engine gave Lesney good value as it was also used in a jeep and a power boat at least.

This car was first produced in 1971 and remained in the range until 1977. The paintwork is always metallic blue however the base can be painted silver or unpainted, the windows can be clear or amber coloured and the stickers can be two arrow heads with racing number 86, racing number 69 (from 69d Turbo Fury) or scorpion labels. The ones to look for are the scorpions as they are harder to find and consequently worth more.
