Box notes: "The Model A Ford was the replacement for the famous Model T and came into production in 1927, some 2.3 million being produced during the 1930s. The car had a four cylinder 2033cc engine and brakes on all four wheels. The woody wagon was very popular right up to the 1950s especially with the Californian surfers" It's an early sort of people carrier with three rows of seats. Before the late Forties car makers did not provide station wagons (or in UK English, shooting brakes or estate cars). If you wanted one of these you had to buy a chassis from the maker and get a coach builder to make you one. The Chrysler Town & Country was the first station wagon to be offered for sale as a factory made part of the range of cars in 1948. These are found with yellow or orange bonnets, black or brown chassis and with or without a silvered windscreen surround. The cars with the orange bonnet from the van version are valued at a reasonable premium, yellow bonnet, black chassis, chrome windscreen gets a small premium. The van versions are found in a range of tradesman's liveries including A&J Box, Carter's Seeds and others. They are all of fairly low value.
