Box notes: "The Mercedes SS models of the late twenties were some of the most exciting cars of their period. With a powerful supercharged seven litre engine. a four speed gear box and twin carburettors this coupe version was capable of 100 mph. SCALE 1:45" This model was first released in 1972 and had a very long production run through to 1990, during that time there were six official colour schemes with the inevitable variations of shade within those. This means that there are some hard to find versions out there but the common ones are very common indeed and are valued accordingly. To add to the rainbow of colours the design was changed for a while to show the roof folded down, after a time the the change was reversed and the hood was replaced in the up position. What to look for? The
hardest to find version is white with a black chassis, next best is lime
green with a dark green chassis. Other premium versions have a mid green
body with a lime green chassis, blue with duck-egg blue side panels,
blue with milky-white side panels and metallic silver with a metallic
red chassis. |
