Box notes: "This bus was built primarily for the London General Omnibus Co. by AEC of Walthamstow, London. It was basically a larger version of the 'K' type (1919-1922). The S-Type was a goods-coach passenger chassis powered by a J-type 4 cylinder 5.1 litre 35hp side-valve petrol engine with a three-speed gearbox. It was equipped with rod-operated fully manual brakes & worm and wheel rear axle. The seating capacity was 54, 24 downstairs (inside) and 30 upstairs (outside). It was in service from 1922-1931. Scale 1:72" This post-Lesney model was released in 1983 and remained in production until 1989. The first releases were Red and black in London General livery with paper labels for the advertising boards containing Schweppes ads. The printing can be red, black or yellow. You will also see it with other advertising in General livery and in the liveries of East Surrey and Express. Rarities with a bit of value are: General with red printed Schweppes adverts and East Surrey with Lifebuoy ads - only though with the word 'Copthorne' on the destination board, 'Copthworne' is not worth so much, in fact the remaining versions are not worth very much al all even mint and boxed.
