Box notes: "This tramcar is one of over 3000 supplied to nearly 50 municipal and company tramway operators in the UK, by Dick Kerr, later the United Electric Car Company of Preston. The basic design appeared in 1900 and with variations in the stair position and type of truck being produced up to 1920. Many lasted to the end of tramway operations in the early 50's. Some were then modified and used as Public Works Vehicles. There are a number of these trams preserved in England both open-top and enclosed versions; at Crick, Derbyshire and the London Transport Museum, Covent Garden.- SCALE 1:87"

Made from 1987 onwards this tram had four colour variations; red & white, London Transport advertising Swan Vestas matches; blue and white, Darlington Corporation advertising Swan Soap; orange & cream, Paisley & District advertising Golden Shred marmalade and finally dark brown & white, Newcastle corporation advertising Zebra grate polish. They are very frequently found and none attracts any sort of premium.

There was also a later release under the Matchbox Collectibles brand
