Box notes: "Designed in 1914, the thoroughly tested Mack was in full production by January 1916. Used by the Allies during World War I it lived up to its nickname the 'Bull Dog Mack' given by the British when they saw its appearance and rugged qualities. Further development after the war enabled Mack to fully share in satisfying the demand for lorries as the US. Government pushed ahead with its road building programme. The 1920 Mack had a 4 cylinder 7.7 litre engine, a 3 speed gear box and a final drive by rear chains." Is it me or have they nicked the design off Renault? That bonnet shape and the radiator on the bulkhead are a bit of a give-away. This Mack Bulldog truck was made by Matchbox from 1985 onwards. It was available as both a box van and as a tilt truck. You will also find the base stamped as made in England or made in Macau and this has an effect on value. There are three listed liveries; Acorn Storage, Consolidated, Arctic Ice Cream and Kiwi Boot Polish. later releases are under the Matchbox Collectibles brand. Look out for the Acorn Storage truck made in Macau
