Models of Yesteryear Y-6/1; 1916 AEC Y Type lorry

The AEC Y Type Lorry was made from 1957 to 1961. Which means that it was a model of a 40 year old truck which is now well over 50 years old, making the toy more historic now than the truck was when the toy was made, if that makes sense.

Some of these are very valuable indeed. If you can find one in bright duck-egg blue or a grey one with plastic wheels then you will have a truly rare and sought after model worth well over £1,000. Of the remaining versions, values tend to be quite modest. They are seen in dark or light grey with the dark grey ones getting a small premium.
