These are the box notes: "This was probably the worlds first true sports car and it was renowned for its extremely smooth running. The model is of a V.2 four seater which had a 4 litre, side valve engine making it capable of a speed of 75 m.p.h." Known to Vauxhall as their C-10, three specially prepared cars were entered in the 1200 mile (1900 km) long 1910 Motor Trials named in honour of Prince Henry of Prussia. Replicas of the trial cars sold quickly and became known as Prince Henry Vauxhalls. Y-2/3 the 1914 Prince Henry Vauxhall was produced from 1970 to 1979 in 1:47 scale. You will see it in red or blue with a silver bonnet, seats are cream or sometimes red, later red issues have a black chassis. Look out for the red and silver version and the blue and silver with a copper coloured petrol tank or a blue and silver version with bright red seats as both are rare and valuable. Other than these two versions the rest don't fetch much of a premium. A Matchbox Collectibles version was released in 1996 in Green |
