1911 Maxwell Roadster |
![]() |
The Maxwell was a brand of automobiles manufactured in the United States of America from about 1904 to 1925. The present-day successor to the Maxwell company is Chrysler Group These are the box notes: "This Model GA Maxwell is one of the antique automobiles in the collection of Henry Austin Clark Jr. of Long Island, New York. It sold for 1400 dollars in 1911 and was described by the manufacturers, the Maxwell-Briscoe Motor Co., as the "Classiest, snappiest, most comfortable two-passenger roadster built." The 1911 Maxwell was introduced in 1965 and according to Ramsay was deleted in the same year (not true), it is always the same turquoise/jade colour but you can find it with the petrol tank in either copper or brass finish. It is the brass ones which are rare and worth money, although Ramsay has it the other way around. There was a Connoisseur Collection release in 1984 coloured cream. and green followed by a Matchbox Collectibles release in 1996. |
