Models of Yesteryear

According to the original E type box: "Introduced as the Opel ‘Doctor’s Car’, this 2-seater Coupe was originally intended as reliable transport for country physicians but soon found favour with other early motorists as well. Selling for 3950 marks the car featured high pressure tyres on detachable steel rims and its four-cylinder 1029cc. engine enabled it to reach 55 kmhr,"

The 1909 Opel Coupe, the third MOY to have the number K4, was made from 1967 to 1984. They were usually cream or off white in colour, some later ones are orange. There is a real rarity which is the white one with a rear window in the hood; of the rest the cars with a maroon grille and hood are a little harder to find. It was also re-released in 1984 as part of the Connoisseur Collection in two-tone red with a tan hood. It was released again in 1996 as part of a Matchbox Collectibles series.
