First built in 1906, the Peugeot had a 12/16 horse-power, 4 cylinder engine cast in pairs, maximum speed of 34 m.p.h. The power was transmitted by chain to the driving wheels. Notable features of this Peugeot were the Traffault shock absorbers using rubber for the first time, which was both efficient and reliable. This model, Y-5/3 the 1907 Peugeot had a very long life in the Models of Yesteryear range being produced from 1969 to 1977. It was made in a wide range of colour variations, most of which are fairly easy to find. The ones to look out for are: yellow with a gold roof, light gold with a black chassis and clear windows, yellow with a black roof and clear windows or gold with a black roof. |
