Box notes: "In October 1906, a town carriage competition was held in
London. Among the taxis exhibited was a Unic Motorcab made by Richard-Brasier
of Paris. It excelled above the competition as the best for bodywork,
smooth braking and gear change, easy access and comfort for passengers,
and smooth running. Such was its achievement that the Unic served the
London Cab Trade for 25 years. The cost to buy the chassis in 1907 was
£1,300."
This taxi is a more finely modelled item than many Models of Yesteryear
products, it really displays very well indeed. It was made in firstly in
dark red, then dark blue and last of all white none of which gets much
of a premium, the white version being slightly harder to find and is
worth marginally more as a result
Boxes: The red and blue cars are in type J boxes, the white cars are in
type N boxes. |
