1862 American General Class Locomotive Santa Fe

Models of Yesteryear

A Model of Yesteryear from the early days of the brand and not surprisingly one which was in the range only briefly. Not much play value here. The class if not the actual loco makes it into Wikipedia: "The General is a type 4-4-0 steam locomotive that was the subject of the Great Locomotive Chase of the American Civil War. The locomotive is preserved at the Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive History in Kennesaw, Georgia, and it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places"

This is a relatively common model in dark green, although the trim can be seen in lots of variations - probably it was hand applied. However there were a very few made in light green and these are worth money!.
