AUSTIN A60 PICKUP-BASED TRAILER

This is a real odditiy.  bought it in a mixed lot from the people who own the Milestone company. The star of the lot was a Rambler Marlin & camping trailer gift set, which was what I was really after. However this was chucked in with it. I emailed the seller to ask what it was and they explained that it was one of their own, made from an Austin A60 pickup, that was the pickup based on the Austin Cambridge as featured in the Corgi launch range. You can recognise the body moulding just in front of the rear wheels.

I suppose this makes it unique. A handmade special from a company that makes handmade specials. I've shown some pictures of the complete model next to it. You can buy the pickup - and many other fine and beautiful models beside on their website: http://www.modelcars.co.uk. This is a quote from their site:

"The Austin A60 was one of the main workhorses of small businesses throughout the sixties and well into the seventies. Its sturdy construction and famous 4 cylinder engine guaranteed thousands of miles of trouble free use. The same body was also used in Morris guise and many examples were sold as pickups"

We had the Morris van on our farm, the very last model when the grille was full width, and my uncle had the Austin pickup. The butcher had one, we used ours for our milk round, as did most other milkmen, they were as ubiquitous as the Bedford CA.

I'm not really sure what to do with this.
