Routemaster Bus - 5d

There should be seats inside, but no windows. I remember there being seats, but they are there no longer. There are two versions of this bus, the first was 5c which had no seats, however this is the later 5d which once had seats but this one has lost them. I owned it as a child and I do remember the base being loose and taking out the seats, should have put them back shouldn't I? You can tell it is the later casting because it has BP Longlife decals, which I don't think were used on the 5c and the base plate covers the cab, which is not the case on the early ones. The early ones are 66mm in length and the later ones are 70mm.

The ones to look out for are Baron of Beef graphics, Pegram Shopfitters or News of the World. Any of these could be quite valuable.

There were four London double-deckers at Number 5. The first two, 5a and 5b are the old Leyland bus while 5c and 5d are the Routemaster. 5c was made from 1960 to 1965 and 5d was made from 1965 to 1969.

Red 'BP Long Life' (seats missing)

Red 'BP Viscostatic' (child's repaint)
