BEA Coach - 58a

It was a pretty unattractive thing to start with and my repaint done as a child has not helped one little bit. I have to say that this is one from near the bottom of the Toybox. It is a model of a British European Airways coach on an AEC chassis.

The model was added to the Lesney range in 1958 and was deleted in 1962; the bodywork is always blue with decals reading 'British European Airways'. You will see the decal with either white lettering with no background or black lettering on white background with a BEA logo. Wheels can be grey, silver or black plastic with knobbly tread.

All versions will fetch a reasonable price when mint and boxed with silver plastic wheels being better priced than grey. Black wheels come somewhere in between, although they have been reported to get very high prices indeed.
