| The transitional model at
No.18 was 18e the Field Car. Nowhere does this say it is an
International Harvesters Scout, and some details, like the doors, are
wrong, but it is undoubtedly based on the Scout. It is found in a
bewildering range of colours and with Superfast wheels or plastic hubs
with plastic tyres. The regular wheels one was released in 1969, always in yellow - the wheels were red plastic hubs with black plastic tyres. There were some green hubs too. It was changed to Superfast wheels in 1970 and this can be found in yellow, white, olive, military drab, metallic red, orange or dark yellow. There are many variations of stickers and other details.. Ones to look out for on the regular wheels version are green hubs which are really rare or black painted rather than unpainted bases which are hard to find. Mine is a black base version but the casting is sadly damaged. Of the Superfast variants the hardest to find are the white ones with checker labels on the bonnet. |
