Commer Ice Cream Canteen - 47b

The idea of an amputee as ice cream man is an interesting one, this man surely has no legs. The Commer Ice-Cream Canteen, 47b, was released in 1963 and stayed in the range until 1968.It is found in shades of blue, metallic blue and in cream with various designs of Lyons Maid labels. Ramsay mentions, but other sources do not, a couple of versions with labels reading Lord Neilson's Ice Cream, also available blue or cream.

The ones to look out for in order of rarity are: blue with grey knobbly plastic wheels, cream bodywork with Lyons Maid decals, metallic blue. As ever the most commonly found variant is the one I own, shown below.
