Vauxhall Victor Estate Car - 38b

Who got there first? Lesney or Dinky? They both had yellow Vauxhall Victor FB estates out at the same time with opening rear tailgates. The Matchbox version works well as a model, as does the Dinky for that matter. This is a car that was once a very common sight on British roads, but such were the problems with rust in those days, especially on Vauxhalls, they all very quickly disappeared. Matchbox released the Victor estate (38b) in 1963 it was deleted in 1967. To answer my question earlier in the paragraph, the text on the box for the Dinky refers to the Victor estate as a prototype - so they may have just beaten Lesney to the market.

They are all yellow and are seen with grey, silver or black plastic wheels. Interiors can be red or green. Grey wheels with red interior seems to be the one to look for, the most common variant is the green interior with black wheels.
