| 'A nice little model of the Bedford CA van here done up in 'Evening
News' livery. Of course in the dim and distant past when I first worked in London
you had the choice in the evening between the Evening News and the
Standard, long ago the two papers merged into the Evening Standard. The Evening News Bedford, 42a, was released in 1957 when the Mk1 Bedford CA was still out there as the van of choice for business and is was deleted in 1965 after a good long run. It is always yellow and the wheels can be grey metal or plastic or black plastic. The ones to look out for are the grey wheels or black plastic wheels with fine (45) treads or black plastic wheels with knobbly (24) treads. |
