| This is a splendid model of a great British car, You'll find
throughout this site that I have a soft spot for Rootes Group cars - but
just look at the detail on this model - the decals, AA and RAC badges,
the road fund licence, the registration plates, the GB plate - as a kid
this stuff was magic. This one has only two faults - missing mirrors and
missing luggage from the roof rack. I was bought one as a kid and it has not survived so well, all the plastic gone and repainted black - however I was SO proud of it and it came with the 18ft caravan also on this site, probably the toys I remember best and certainly the grandest die-casts I ever owned. I had to pay a lot of money to replace them - but it was worth it. This could be restored, all the parts are available, but not much can be salvaged from this old thing. However the Spot-Ons I've seen for sale recently are really expensive, even if they are very incomplete so I guess a restored one would have some value and it would be fun to do.
