Austin Taxi - 254 (40h)

This version of the Austin Taxi (FX3?) stayed in production from 1951 to 1963. This one being a single colour is from the earlier part of the production run.

This is one of those models for which I've only really appreciated the detail when it's been photographed and blown up. It's worth clicking on the images to see them full size to appreciate how well modelled this item is. However I'm not sure how many taxis in London were painted yellow in the fifties, especially since all the Ealing comedies seem to be in black and white.
