Its perhaps another measure of the distance
between Corgi and Dinky that they both made models of the FIAT 600 four
years apart. Dinky in 1959, Corgi in 1963. Both efforts are pictured
below. No comment needed from me. The Dinky is a real oddity. It is one of a pair, the other being the Austin A35. The scale was slightly smaller, something like 1:50 on a pair of cars that were already very small. But they are more like early Matchbox toys than Dinkys. It's the wheels that define them, solid one-piece plastic grey wheels, exactly like Matchbox and exactly not like anything else Dinky ever made.
