| This casting had been in the Dinky range
since the mid-50s, the 'regular' wheels version had been No.670, made
from 1954 to 1970. The Daimler Armoured Car it was modelled on was then
still in service with the British Army, but had been so since the early
days of the Second World War.
Model number 676 was a much later re-release with Speedwheels. The Speedwheels version was made from 1973 to 1976 when after more than 20 years service in the Dinky Toys range it retired with honour, the 1:1 version had still been working hard for the Territorials into the 1960s. |
