The modelling is poor. It is recognisably a late Series 2a Land Rover from the front detail, Late Series 2 Land Rovers had the lights in the wings with a mesh grille from 1970-73 until the Series 3 came along with the plastic grille.
One point this has over the Corgi 109 though is that the back of the cab is better - Corgi left the detail as in the square-cornered Series 1 (picture below) - Dinky had the correct rounded windows on the corners - but the central window was too big.. The windscreen also looks wrong - why? The glass comes too far down because the scuttle vents are just not there, the interior detail is non-existent and the engine detail shows that the modeller never even looked under the bonnet of a Land Rover. Sorry - could do better Dinky - the engine in the Dinky Range Rover is dead right - this one is not.
The land-Rover pick-up was made by Dinky from 1970 to 1980 and was either metallic red or metallic blue, both having the load-bed picked out in white. Early releases have the cast hubs, later on they are replaced with Speedwheels. It is not a particularly rare model and all version values seem to be similar.
