Morris Mini-Minor Automatic - 183 |
|
Compare this to the Dinky Mini Clubman - with which it appears to share
some modelling, this being an earlier release - don't the wheels look better as spun hubs than Superfast? The quality control
seems better too. However it suffers from the same problem of less fine
engineering and lack of good detailed modelling especially on the
interior when compared to a Corgi.
It was fun to make it an automatic too - although I think some were not. However one thing Dinky were always bad at was getting the model detail right. This is an original Mini Mk1 - from the early years, 1959 to 1966 when the Mini Mk2 came out with the new shape grille and squared-off tail-lights - alongside wind-down windows and the sorted out gear shift plus a hundred other improvements. So why put a 1969/70 reg on a model of a pre 1966 car? |
