| This is a model of the 250SE, the W108
model which ran from 1965 through to 1972 (in the Mercedes-Benz range
that is. It is one of the true classic Mercs, solid, reliable, well
built and expensive. Dinky chose to give it working brake lights. It is a very simple mechanism. You push down on the rear suspension and the tail lights light up, powered by a AAA battery under the car. The colour was always blue but the car can be found with either cast or spun hubs. The Dinky Mercedes-Benz 250SE was added to the Dinky range in 1967 where it remained until it was deleted in 1974. |
