You can be forgiven for thinking this was a tipper with the works
lost - but it never did tip. All it ever did was be a fixed body truck
which shared some of its components with a tipper version. It was
another that came in a mixed lot - not one I would have bought at the
time when my collection was exclusively Corgi; but I'm
pleased to have it now. It is remarkably complete and original.
It was first released in 1948 under number 25w. These are all shades of green. It can be all-over mid green, mid green with black mudguards or have a dark green cab with a lighter green body. Most of these have green hubs, there is an all-over mid green version though with red hubs. In 1954 the number was changed to 411 but the truck continued in mid green, some having light green hubs. This is a sought after model and all versions are fairly well priced. Look out for red hubs, this is rarest and most valuable version. The dark green/light green version is also worth having as is the one with black mudguards |
