Vauxhall Cavalier SRi

My first company car was a Cortina. 5 years old and clapped out, but that was what they gave you while you did your probation, once you'd done the first few months you got a proper car. Mine was a white SRi. It was the pre-facelift model with the silver grille and it was the saloon rather than the hatch (A plate), but this is a nice memento. I had loads of Cavaliers over the years and they were all rock solid, great to drive and 100% reliable. E plate means 1988, that year I had a change and got a Sierra, what a dog that was. Horrible to drive and amazingly unreliable. I didn't stray from my Cavaliers again. I reckon I drove more than a third of a million miles in Cavaliers. I used to have the tyres on the left wheels changed at 60,000 miles, that's how long they lasted and I only wore out the tyres on the left because the only corners I went round were roundabouts.
