Around this time Corgi made very good use of the Bell JetRanger helicopter. There was a version with floats and a rescue winch that supported the Australian TV Series .... and a couple that fired missiles which were from James Bond movies. Here we have the Superman franchise being thoroughly sweated with the introduction of an eye in the sky for those newshounds at the Daily Planet, City of Metropolis' premier daily paper.

The Daily Planet Jet 'copter was released in June 1979. It is always red with a white underside and has large paper 'Daily Planet' labels on the sides. The helicopter was deleted from the range after a year in 1980. This short run and the popularity of the Superman franchise keep values high.
