Interesting outing for the lumpen Pacer here as a rescue car, number 35 on the bonnet and I'm not sure who  it is rescuing from what. This was apparently a dreadful car, one review says it "might have had more credibility as the all-American answer to the invading hordes had it not been powered by a 3.8-litre straight six engine that could barely push its quivering bulk to 90 mph on an emissions-strangled 95 bhp while averaging 18 mpg or less." He added that the weight of the Pacerís "boat anchor of a power unit", which was "taken from the Jeep", was so great that it "broke the steering on early Pacers." Says it all.

Corgi used the casting a few times on different versions each with their own model numbers.
This No.484 'Rescue' was produced from 1978 to 1980. The export version has different door stickers reading 'Secours' rather than 'Rescue', the export version gets a small premium on price.
