| Another example of Corgi living its life backwards. This model has been
around for years in various guises with a steering mechanism controlled from the
roof. Steered via a roof-mounted spare wheel as an East African safari rally car
and via a blue beacon with
the German Police car. Now it has a steering wheel as it is a driving school
car. However the earlier ones had opening boot and bonnet - or whatever they are
on a Beetle - this final effort at a steering model loses these details, next
time out it loses the steering too. Enough said
The 1975 re-release was number 401, nearly the same as number 400. The
difference was that401 was in a box with a diorama with a set of bollards to
drive around. |
