| This is
another model from Chris Davidson's collection of excellent mint in box
later release Corgis. More excellent pictures taken in the stunning
mountain scenery of the French Alps.
A couple of firsts
here. This is the first 1:36 scale sports car in the Corgi range and
after a very long tradition of Corgi making model racing cars this one
actually did race with the Corgi logo on the bonnet at Le Mans in 1973.
I don't think it won, but it was a nice example of life imitating art. I
think it was down to Anthony Bamford of JCB who sponsored the car but
good to see Corgi out there.
However it is not
a nice car, of all the Ferrari's this must be the ugliest and most
lumpen. Before and since they have made some of the most beautiful cars
in the world. This, sadly, is not one of them. |
