| This very nice mint and boxed
example of the Corgi/JCB Le Mans Ferrari belongs to a visitor to this
site who is fortunate enough to have a superb collection of mint and
boxed Corgi cars and also to live in a beautiful part of Switzerland,
which he uses as a very effective backdrop to his pictures. This model is though a curious example of life imitating art, there actually was a Daytona entered in the Le Mans 24 Hour Race in 1973 jointly sponsored by Corgi and JCB. Is this a model of the 1:1 racer or was it a full size version of this car? There were several versions of this casting released by Corgi under a range of model numbers. This one, 324, was produced from 1973 to 1975 and there are no listed variations. |
