| OK, where do I start. What were they thinking of? Surely by 1973 the
Bedford TK was an antique! And why did they take away the detail from
the radiator grille? How did that either save money or enhance the
model? In any case it is an attempt to get some more mileage out of the
old Chipperfields horse box from 1962 through to 1972. Now, as someone who was a boy when the TK Bedford first came
out - both real and model - one of the most fun things about the toy was
those big silly mirrors, gone on this model leaving it looking strangely
bereft. And the other fun thing about Corgi artics is detaching the cab
- on this it's screwed on. This model was specced by a cost accountant! The interior tack room detail is nice though.
The Newmarket
Horse transporter was released in 1973 and deleted in 1977. It is always
green and is reported as being found in metallic or gloss green. It came
with four racehorses and a stable lad. |
