| This
is the re-release of number 300 from 1970. The 1970 model has take-off
wheels and golden jacks, this one has Whizzwheels. The car was in the
Corgi line-up for only one year being released in 1972 and deleted in
1973. The Great Book of Corgi just has the Whizzwheels version of this
car in metallic blue. Ramsay quotes it in metallic pink however but
shows the life of the car from 1970 to 1973. The take-off wheels,
pre-Whizzwheels version was made from 1970 to 1972 and was metallic pink
- so my money is on the Whizzwheels cars all being metallic blue.
It was really hard
to find, I have never seen one of these for sale in the UK ever. I bought
this car of US Ebay, we're getting into the really rare area here. It is
missing two jewels from the front and three from the rear, but as they
only cost a few pence each they are easily replaced. I don't know
whether this version ever had the roof panels, they may have been
deleted from the model as part of the Whizzwheels de-speccing. |
