| The
model only lasted a year - and I have no recollection of the real car
it was modelled on, but I found this on the net: "The
project ground to a halt due to weeks of worker's strikes from which the
profits suffered so badly that projects like the GT70 had to be
scrapped. A couple of prototypes were built and it was rallied only once
or twice for test purposes.." So it looks like Corgi got an
inside track on a new model that in the end was never made, it was to be
a purpose-built rally car.
The engine
detail is unusually good and the red jewelled tail lights are nice, but
it's a bit dull, the real car was quite pretty, this is a typical Mazak
hulk which catches some of the detail, but misses the point of the whole
car.
The model was always
metallic lime green with a black engine cover. It was supplied with a
decal sheet consisting of racing number stickers with RN32 so you may
see it with that number or if you are really lucky you might find a
boxed one with the decal sheet still in the box. |
