| These are really rather good photographs, taken by my 13 year old son Phil. They
are really dramatic and a model this big is very hard to photograph well.
The
model - the bonnet lifts, but during the photo shoot would not stay down. It has
a plastic catch to hold it down against a spring. The truth was that the bonnet
hinge and the catch were made to such poor tolerances that it was never going to
work. Compare this to some of the engineering excellence that Corgi was putting
out ten years before. In the end I lost patience with it and took the pliers to
the spring. Now it closes quite well.
One thing I do like about this model though is the stickers put on by a
previous owner. The child who owned this also owned a Dymo labeller - and I'm
not sure where that Ferrari badge on the front bumper came from
